Local knowledge

We know Bountiful roofs

Bountiful was built out decades before most of the county, which means its roofs are older, its trees are bigger, and its lots on the east bench are steeper. The mid-century neighborhoods near Main and 500 South are full of homes on their third roof; the bench above them has complex rooflines, long north slopes, and views that come with wind.

Age, shade, and slope

Old roofs and big trees go together here. Shade keeps north slopes damp and shortens shingle life; branches take out shingles and gutters in the wind; and decades of small leaks leave decking that needs a sheet-by-sheet check on tear-off. On the bench, snow holds into spring and ice dams are a yearly event.

Bountiful is eight miles from our office and a regular stop. Every inspection here starts with the decking and the ventilation, because on an older roof those decide everything.

What we do in Bountiful

Roofing services for Bountiful homes

Mid-century rambler stripped to bare decking, every sheet checked before the new roof

Replacing the mid-century roofs

Ramblers and split-levels from the 50s and 60s, often with layers on original decking. We tear off, check every sheet, and rebuild to code.

Complex bench roofline with dormers, hips and valleys under new shingles

Bench homes with complex rooflines

Dormers, valleys, and steep pitches above the temple. Measured on the roof, planned for the wind, and finished with the details that keep snow out.

Broken tree limb across the eave with the gutter crushed beneath it

Tree and wind damage

Mature trees and the canyon wind take shingles and gutters. We fix the impact and check the rest of the slope while we're there.

Ice built up along the eave of a shaded north-facing slope

Ice dams on the north slopes

Long, shaded slopes hold snow and dam at the eave. We repair the damage and fix the ventilation that causes it.

Shingles peeled back to reveal the water track staining the underlayment

Repairs that find the source

Flashing, boots, valleys. Water travels on an old roof, and we trace it to where it enters instead of patching the stain.

Attic inspection: a phone photographing a water stain on the underside of the roof decking

Free inspections, photographed

On the roof and in the attic if needed. Photos of everything, an honest read on the years left, no obligation.

Questions

Bountiful roofing FAQ

My Bountiful home is from the 1960s. What should I expect?

Usually more than one layer of shingle, and decking that needs a real check. We plan for both: full tear-off, sheet-by-sheet inspection, and a per-sheet price for any decking that has to go.

Do you work on the east bench?

Yes. Steep lots and complex rooflines are regular work for us, and we schedule them for the right day.

How do I stop the ice dams?

Ventilation and insulation, not chipping. Warm attic air melts the snow; a cold eave refreezes it. We fix the cause.

Do you pull permits in Bountiful?

Yes. Bountiful City requires a re-roof permit and we pull it.
